The Treatment Benefit Scheme is available to insured workers, the self-employed, and retired people who have paid the required PRSI contributions. Even if your spouse, civil partner, or cohabitant doesn’t have enough contributions, they may still be eligible on your record.
It’s easy! Simply call, email or whatsapp us with your PPS number and date of birth, and our friendly front-of-house team will check your eligibility on your behalf. This quick check will let you know whether your claim is:
Approved: Entitling you to a dental examination and subsidised Scale & Polish for €15.
Pending: Where further checks are needed—still allowing you to receive treatment once confirmed.
Not approved: In which case you can still opt for a private appointment.
If approved, you’ll benefit from a full oral examination and have the option to choose between:

No. PRSI benefits are available once per calendar year (from January to December). If you miss your claim, you’ll need to wait until the new calendar year to avail of these entitlements again.
