Remedial Work Policy

At Cube Dental, we are committed to delivering high-quality dental care. Occasionally, treatment outcomes may require adjustment or additional work. To ensure fairness and clarity for both our patients and clinicians, we have set out the following policy on remedial work.

1. Definition of Remedial Work

Remedial work refers to treatment provided to correct, adjust, or improve an outcome that does not meet expected standards despite being carried out in good faith and to an appropriate professional standard.

2. Timeframe & Charges

  • Within 6 months of the original treatment date: remedial work provided free of charge.
  • Between 6–9 months: patient contribution of 50% of the treatment cost.
  • Between 9–12 months: patient contribution of 75% of the treatment cost.
  • After 12 months: the treatment will be regarded as new treatment and charged at the full standard rate.

3. Process

  • Patients should contact the clinic as soon as they have concerns.
  • A review appointment will be arranged with the treating dentist (or another clinician if appropriate).
  • Where possible, remedial work will be booked with the dentist who originally carried out the treatment.
  • If this is not possible, and another dentist must carry out the remedial work, the applicable fee (or portion of the original treatment fee covered under remedial work) will be transferred to the second clinician.
  • The original dentist will have the corresponding deduction from their account that month to reflect the remedial work allocation.
  • The decision and plan will be documented in the patient’s record.

4. Exclusions

Remedial work does not cover:

  • Situations where the patient has not followed post-treatment instructions.
  • Further cosmetic preference changes (e.g. colour/shape adjustments after crowns, veneers, or whitening where the original work met agreed expectations).
  • Treatment carried out elsewhere.

5. Limitations

  • Remedial work cannot be guaranteed to provide a different outcome than the original treatment.
  • In cases where remedial treatment is clinically inappropriate, alternative options (including referral) will be discussed.
  • Only the aspects of treatment identified as requiring correction will be covered under remedial work; additional or unrelated issues will be charged as new treatment.

6. Patient Responsibilities

  • Patients must attend all scheduled review or remedial appointments. Missed appointments may forfeit eligibility for free or reduced-cost remedial work.
  • Good oral hygiene and regular check-ups are required for remedial cover to apply.

7. Complex or Multi-Stage Treatments

  • For treatments involving multiple stages (e.g. implants, orthodontics), timelines for remedial work will be assessed individually depending on the treatment plan.
  • Laboratory fees (for crowns, dentures, aligners, etc.) may not always be included in free remedial work. Patients may be asked to contribute to these direct third-party costs.

8. Discretion Clause

Cube Dental reserves the right, at the clinician’s discretion, to provide remedial work outside of these timeframes or conditions where it is deemed clinically appropriate and in the patient’s best interest.

9. Complaints

If a patient is dissatisfied with the remedial decision, they may follow Cube Dental’s formal complaints procedure.
